Fall is not my favorite season because I know it leads to winter, but football and food make up for the impending cold temperatures. Give me the Penn State game and a delicious spread with condiments, salads, burgers & dogs and of course, dessert…and I am happy!
Here at Kitchen Kettle Village we kick-off the fall season with a Tailgate Festival – this year with a focus on bacon! Mark your calendar for Friday, September 15th & Saturday, September 16th. It is two days filled with sports fun, food, bacon, pig scarecrows, a parade and so much more.
Village shops compete in a scarecrow contest that offers a top prize of $200! This year the scarecrows must be of pigs to complement our bacon theme. Think Porky the Pig, Miss Piggy, Three Little Pigs, Pigs in a Blanket…and the list goes on. There is also a Carrot Derby on Saturday with a trophy and a cash prize of $100 for the fastest car of the day!
And don’t forget about all the food! Maple bacon fudge, salted caramel bacon popcorn, bacon appetizers, entrees and so much more served throughout the Village. Why not put on your favorite team jersey, make the drive out to Lancaster County and visit the Village on September 15th or 16th. You’ll find great entertainment, tantalizing treats, friendly employees and awesome activities that will make you the MVP of your family & friends (whoever you brought with you on your fun adventure)!
Hope to see you at the Kitchen Kettle Village Tailgate Festival! I will be the one in the Penn State jersey yelling “We Are!”
