Rhubarb Festival Fun!

Rhubarb Festival Fun!

Join the Festival Fun!

The Rhubarb Festival is almost here! This annual event happens the third Friday & Saturday in May – this year those dates are this Friday, May 20th & Saturday, May 21st. It is my very favorite festival for many reasons – but mainly because it just has a zany atmosphere. Maybe it is the head gear (check out the fascinators we made this year to wear), the World’s Only Rhubarb Race Car Derby (yes, little dragsters made from rhubarb & raced on a real track) or all the delicious foods that we serve at the festival.

Village employees making Derby style fascinators for Rhubarb Festival

Rhubarb Festival is a breath of spring that colors the Village in magenta and green. Employees compete for the prestigious title of Rhubarb King & Queen, local bakers vie for best of show in the “Best Rhubarb Dessert in Lancaster County” baking contest benefiting the Lancaster Farmland Trust…but most of all it is an opportunity for employees and guests alike to celebrate spring in Lancaster County.
