professional hand-fitter in a couture studio mixed with some non-profit craft retail work, Wendy can interact with novice knitters to experienced professionals about anything knitting. “I especially love tourism,” she admits, “because I can talk with knitters from Yarn ballsaround the world and hear about their knitting backgrounds and techniques. That plays into my fascination with textile design anthropology.”

lines is Plain Yarn. “It’s a treat to have local, organic-raised wool. Fiber production in Lancaster County is not big – the land is too valuable for fiber animals,” Wendy explains. The farm that produces the Plain Yarn is a small farm just down the street from the shop. “They Plain Yarnhave 13 sheep. We know each one by name!” The yarn colors in the line are the actual names of the sheep.
