A Holiday Experience to Remember

Over the past month we have received hundreds of memories and stories from our loyal guests.  We’ve read through them and selected the top stories to share.

“Suddenly, there was a jingle of sleigh bells! The next thing we knew, Santa Claus was at Kitchen Kettle Village!”

Jan and her family come to the Village every year to kick off the holiday season. The magic and kindness in the Village never cease to amaze them and keep them coming back year after year. Please enjoy the memory from Jan and her family below…

By far, my favorite memory at Kitchen Kettle Village is our yearly stay over the Thanksgiving weekend. Forget Black Friday! Go to Kitchen Kettle Village! There is nothing better than the look of joy on my twins’s faces as they made their very own s’mores over a pit fire. The happiness of making them is not even half as good as eating them. They would make s’mores for all the family and drink hot cider and hot chocolate.

Then they would go to decorate gingerbread cookies! All the color choices! My daughter doesn’t eat gingerbread, so she was proud to hand her creation to me, her Mom. We would celebrate with local musicians and choirs in the brisk air singing along to Christmas carols. Then we would go to dinner at the Harvest Cafe. Watching the excited looks on our twins’s faces as Mrs. Claus walked in! Mrs. Claus came to spend some special time with everyone while they ate dinner. She told magical holiday stories and shared the fun of living at the North Pole. Suddenly, there was a jingle of sleigh bells! The next thing we knew, Santa Claus was at Kitchen Kettle Village! He actually came to see all the children and their families.

After all these adventures, we would go back to the Hershey Suite. What a beautiful, homey suite! We would all get into our pajamas and would gather in front of the warm fireplace with more hot chocolate. We would bring a slew of Christmas DVDs and we each got to pick what we wanted to watch. It was the best way to spend family time over the Thanksgiving weekend. Those memories are the very best for all my family. Even though the twins have turned 21 now, they still talk about our Thanksgiving trip to Kitchen Kettle Village. These memories are remembered fondly and we sit & share all the great things we did over the weekend. We’d love to go back and enjoy them all over again.

When we asked Jan about her favorite part of the Village she quickly responded with, “Pat Burnley, Thanksgiving weekend fun, summer vacation relaxation, Kling House breakfast, chocolate chip cookies, and jams & jellies!”
